  The Metal Gear Solid series of games seamlessly blend stealth game play with engrossing story arcs that have kept fans of the series happy since the original's release. The companion to the first game, VR Missions, plays like a tutorial on stealth, letting players assume the role of Solid Snake as the character is guided through several levels to attain certain goals. If you have the PlayStation1 version, there's some cheats and hints to help you make it through.
  
  

Change It Up

• While there's a few simple things players can do to reveal alternate game screens such as pressing the "Start" button at the Konami logo screen to reveal the unmasked ninja or pressing left or right on the D pad to see different color schemes, there's more. When the title screen appears, watch for the appearance of the ninja carefully. Once he appears, quickly press Start, enabling you to now use the ninja character, upping the stealth ability and helping you quickly attain an 85 percent accomplished rating.
  
  

Sneak Peeks

• The character Mei Ling reveals a photo session as long as players gain the "Extra" bonus by completing all 30 timed attack levels with a satisfactory rating. Similarly, those wanting to see a bit more of Naomi in the game can be a fly on the wall at the photo shoot: After selecting Naomi Model 2, watch as the model starts to move, revealing the character in her underwear.
  
  

Getting It Done

• Completing all the VR missions can seem a bit daunting to even seasoned players. But during some missions, players can let the game beat itself. In Mission 13, attack and knock down the first enemy soldier who enters, before both he and his compatriot stand still. While the attacked soldier falls, the second will stand still. The first solider gets up, falsely believing he was attacked by his buddy, and will attack him, thus finishing the level. Level 3 features an easy way to finish the level and the lone guard simultaneously: have the character stand on the third step up from the floor and fire the Nikita missile. Guide the missile around the stage, not through it, to the wall at the far end. It will explode behind the guard, killing him instantly and quickly winning the level.
