Choose a corner that is lackluster or cluttered. If it is an area where kids' toys and games seem to pile up, purchase some stacking drawers to contain the clutter. Decorate the adjoining walls with some framed photos of the children or even frame some of their artwork. A corner is also a great spot to put a small child's desk and chair. Add a hanging light fixture and a shelf for books and you have the perfect homework space.

Spruce up a corner of the living area that is boring or unused with some nice art and a recessed light for drama. Place a large vase in the style of your decor and add long grasses. To give some height, place the vase on an old trunk or small occasional table.

Hang framed family photos on the adjoining walls of a corner to make a nice display. Again, lighting is important as most corners are dark, so add a lamp, recessed light or hanging fixture to brighten the area and draw the eye to the furthermost points of the room. This increases the depth and really opens up a room. A mirror hanging in a corner will also add depth and interest to an otherwise unnoticed area.

Dress up kitchen corners with three tiered hanging baskets filled with fruit and vegetables. Or add a small corner table to house cell phones, phone books and chargers. A serving cart is a great addition to a corner and a real help when it comes time to serve. If the dining table is too crowded, dishes and serving pitchers can be placed on the cart. A serving cart can also be quickly turned into a bar when company comes to visit.

Turn a deserted corner in a bedroom into a reading corner with a comfortable chair and lamp. Don't forget a small side table to store the books. If you meditate, place an inspiring painting in an unused corner, add a cushion and a small table for incense and crystals.

Turn a bedroom or bathroom corner into an accessory area by hanging handbags, scarves, jewelry and hats. Don't waste an inch of space; every corner can have a very functional, if not beautiful, purpose.
