How to Control Asiatic Jasmine

    • 1). Walk around the Asiatic jasmine and look for vines that have begun to climb vertically up trees, shrubs, fences or buildings. Cut these vines off near the base of the ground using pruning shears.

    • 2). Set the mower deck on a lawn mower to no lower than 5 to 5 1/2 inches. Turn the lawn mower on and push is slowly over the entire area of Asiatic Jasmine to trim the tops down to a manageable size.

    • 3). Turn on an electric or gas-powered weed trimmer and move it along the entire outer perimeter of the Asiatic Jasmine to cut back the horizontal growth of the vines.

    • 4). Rake up all of the cut Asiatic Jasmine vines and place them into a trash bag or a compost pile for disposal.
