- 1). Attach one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI output on your HTPC. If you are using component cables, attach all five of the colored cables to the component out connections on the HTPC.
- 2). Attach the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI input on your TV. For component cables, simply use the component inputs on the TV instead. No matter which type of cable you use, take note of how it is labeled on the TV because this information will be useful to you later.
- 3). Configure the TV to receive the HD signal from the HTPC. Simply tune it to the high-definition input used. This is done using the input selection control, typically labeled "input," "source," "TV/video," "TV/AV" or the like. Press it repeatedly until the TV displays the input that you used to connect the HTPC to the TV (i.e., "HDMI 2" or "Component 1"). The TV should now be displaying HD-quality video and audio from the HTPC.
