Should We Go To War?
Should we go to war or take care of our needs at home? We are spending billions of dollars in other countries, yet our cities are facing bankruptcy or bankrupt like Detroit, Michigan, which is predominantly African-Americans.
Where should we focus our priorities? American citizens are losing their homes, no jobs, and health care cost rising.
No longer can we turn our attention away from the problems at home.
The crisis is escalating with the insurmountable national debt of $70 trillion, which is so hard to discuss or just simply illogical.
This brings back the questions: Should we go to war? Can we even afford it? Abraham Flexner said: "Probably, no nation is rich enough to pay for both war and civilization.
We must make our choice; we cannot have both.
" Was he right? I do agree that the Middle East is a global terror threat, and we have to protect our country, but the Middle East problems are complicated.
The Soviets in 1979 and the United States in 2001 learned that lesson when they invaded Kabul, Afghanistan, which triggered a domestic burden and unsustainable peace.
Let us not forget Iraq having weapons of mass destruction, the biggest blunder by the United States.
What a waste of lives and money.
We have never had a clear knowledge of the culture, tribes or the intricacies of their troubles that traces back to the Bible.
We cannot solve their problems.
For years we have been applying band-aids to the wounds but they need major surgeries, which we cannot perform.
War is a slayer of life and families and causes physical and emotional pain.
However, some political leaders use war as a means to an end.
They are so concerned about popularity, next election, corruption, greed and partisan politics they no longer serve the people.
I pray that our leaders make the right decision about going to war for the sake of mankind.
My heart is heavy seeing what is happening in the poorer communities across America.
No one wants to face the truth; nevertheless, the truth will finally set us free.
It is time that we refocus our responsiveness to the economic threat that has already caused a ping pong effect from gun violence, drugs, poverty to the demise of many physically as well as spiritually.
People in this country are suffering and dying.
Let us fight for America.
Let us rebuild America.
Let us help America before it is too late.
