2010 Tabby Cats Picture Gallery: Biscuit

Biscuit is a blue Maine Coon, aged 5. He is Muffie's elder brother. When I first got him, he didn't like being touched because he was very nervous. He had a heart condition. Now, four and a half years later, he no longer has a heart condition, and he loves being kissed, held, brushed, combed, you name it. He takes CoQ10, vitamin E, Taurine, Stress B, etc. In this picture, he is in my lap, reveling in being petted.

As you can see, he has very interesting markings. The father was pure blue; the mother was a white, red, and black patch Maine Coon, the daughter of a beautiful red and white show winner.

It was unfortunately that side of the family carried the gene for HCM. Fortunately for Biscuit, his heart murmur was an extra ligament strung across the left ventricle. The blood bounced off of it and caused the murmur. Little Désirée came to live with us so she could care for him. She calmed him down, and, eventually, either by miracle, or vitamins, or accident, that ligament broke and atrophied so that he is completely normal today.

He has become the most loving cat imaginable. He sleeps with me every night and lies by the computer (or on top of it!) during the day. He has so much love to give that there's plenty for me, plenty for every kitten who has ever come to our house, and plenty for his housemates. He is a truly radiant little child of God!
