How to Assemble a No-Sew Fabric Gift Box

    • 1). Cut a piece of fusible web to fit the fabric you plan to use. You can use one large piece of fabric or scraps of fabric in complementary colors and patterns.

    • 2). Place the fusible web against the backside of the fabric. Place an iron on the "cotton" setting against the right side of the fabric (with fusible web underneath) and hold for 15 to 30 seconds, or until the fusible web and fabric are completely fused. Let cool.

    • 3). Cut the fabric into varying shapes like squares, rectangles and triangles. You can use pinking shears instead of regular scissors to add extra style to the shapes and prevent fraying. The number and size of shapes you cut out will depend on how large your box is. Keep in mind that shapes should overlap to completely cover the box, and larger rectangular shapes are best for wrapping around the edges of the box and lid.

    • 4). Peel the paper backing off of the fusible web on one of your shapes and place it against the box so the fusible web is touching the box. Press the iron on top of the fabric shape for 15 to 30 seconds, or until the shape is bonded to the box.

    • 5). Repeat with your remaining shapes until the box is completely covered. When covering the edges of the box or lid, make sure the shapes hang over the edge so they can be wrapped around to the inside for a neat look. Since ironing inside the box and lid can be tricky, use craft glue to stick these pieces on the inside instead.
