When dealing with morning sickness, any tip or secret to make the sick feelings go away is what every woman wants.
Well, in my research I have found some tricks to overcome morning sickness.
These valuable tips will help you satisfy cravings, suppress nausea and maintain good health in a practical way.
All of us that have given birth and gone through pregnancy, have all been told you just need to manage morning sickness.
Many of you know what I am talking about.
The "traditionalist's" that believe if you're not dead, suck it up.
I disagree; life does not have to be so hard.
I am on a mission to help as many pregnant women become successful at dealing with morning sickness, as possible.
To manage morning sickness, what exactly are we trying to manage? Bottom line is vomiting or feeling like it.
Cravings are a weird phenomenon during pregnancy.
We have all heard about the ketchup, pickle, cheese sandwiches, why would such a horrible combination be craved.
Let's start with understanding the cause of these cravings.
A combination of emotional and physical changes take place during pregnancy, and through the release of different hormones, the body is going crazy; end result, crazy cravings.
On a side note, if you are pregnant or not, the following can trigger cravings: dehydration, cravings for salty foods, too much salt can trigger that sweet tooth to pop its head up, and being tired.
Last of all, we start feeling fat, uncomfortable, scared, bloated, irritated, hot, etc.
This can trigger the need for comfort, and food can be comforting.
If you think about the triggers, the real question on how to satisfy cravings during pregnancy comes down to the following.
If what you crave will actually satisfy that craving or resolve the real issue? Sometimes we mask our problems and think that if we just eat, the problem will go away.
For instance, if you feel sad, scared, tired, annoyed, thirsty, or bloated, will eating really make you feel better? If your emotions are going crazy, instead of snacking and eating your sorrows away, call a friend, and/or talk with your husband.
The best trick if none of the above is working is to simply drink a glass of water before giving in to a food craving.
When dealing with cravings, remember the domino effect.
For instance, if you eat something salty, will that lead to eating a sweet? For example, having ice cream a few times a week versus a few times a day may mean the difference between being happy and comfortable during your pregnancy and being unhappy from excessive weight gain, along with potentially missing out on necessary nutrients.
Moderation in all things is what you need to remember and will prove to help cure your morning sickness.
