- 1). Peel the plantain.
- 2). Cut the plantain into thin slices with a mandolin or sharp knife. Some prefer them cut crosswise to make small chips. Others prefer to cut them lengthwise to make long, thin strips.
- 3). Deep fry your plantain chips in vegetable oil until they are golden brown.
- 4). Remove the plantain chips from the oil and spread them out on a plate covered with paper towels to soak up the excess grease.
- 5). Lightly salt and serve.
