What parents don't know about bullying is school
Bullying is a form of harsh treatment from fellow students or any person who feels that he/she has authority over you. Bullying is practiced in many places, but the most common places are learning institutions and we can also thought of rehabilitation centres. There are many ways in which bullying is practiced. Below are some of the ways in which bullying is practiced in learning institutions which parents have never known:
DENIAL OF BASIC RIGHTS IN SCHOOL
We find that in some schools, the older students tend to bully the younger ones by denying them their basic rights in school .What are these basic rights in school? These are like the right to access to learning materials, the right to have freedom of participation, the right to have freedom of association, the right to have the basic human need which is food and many more. But the common ones are below. Let us now look at how these rights are being practiced in schools.
1. Right to access to learning materials
Older student but not all would bully the younger ones especially those that they do not agree with in certain areas. They would threat them that if they dare made a step to library, laboratory or store; they would destroy them and even sometimes tell them that they would kill them if they report them to the teacher. So this leaves the younger student with no option but to do as they have been told. In this way, we find out that the young student is not getting adequate education due to the in access to these learning materials. Parents would even wonder why their sons or daughter are not doing well in school. Therefore parents should have close relationship with their sons/daughters when comes to matters concerning their educational life. They should come in full force to know what is going on with their sons/daughter when their performances are deteriorating in school.
2. Right to have freedom of participation
Some student would tend to bully others by not allowing them to participation in school's activities like; playing soccer, basketball, tennis, volleyball, netball, and many other games. This hinders the other student from exploring their talents. Teachers should ensure that all students participate in all school's activities since no one was born without a talent.
3. Freedom association
In some learning institution, some students do not allow others to associate with them. This is really hard for other students because they don't even get access to discussion groups which play a bigger role in performance improvement. This leaves them with no option but just to remain lonely. Once a student is lonely, he/she can not do much. As the wise men said two heads is better than one. Therefore parents and teachers should work together to ensure that all student enjoy their rights in schools. By ensuring these, bullying will never be practiced in learning institutions; moreover there will be a good atmosphere that encourages students to do well in school.
