French Braid Pigtail Instructions

    Prepare Hair

    • 1). Brush your hair thoroughly to remove any tangles or knots.

    • 2). Part your hair down the center of your head, beginning at your hairline and going down to the nape of your neck.

    • 3). Secure the left side of your hair with an elastic band to keep the hair separated.

    Create the French Braid Pigtail

    • 1). Gather about a 2-inch section of hair that spans from your hairline to the crown of your head, and divide it into three equal sections.

    • 2). Hold the section of hair on the right side in your right hand and the section of hair on the left side in your left hand. Hold the section of hair in the middle in either hand.

    • 3). Cross the right section of hair over the middle, then cross the left section of hair over the middle. All three sections switch places as you cross them.

    • 4). Hold the three sections of hair tightly in your hands and use your right index finger and thumb to gather a small portion of hair from the loose hair on the right side, and add it to the section of hair in your right hand.

    • 5). Hold the three sections of hair tightly in your hands and use your left index finger and thumb to gather a small portion of hair from the loose hair on the left side, and add it to the section of hair in your left hand.

    • 6). Repeat Steps 3 through 5 until you reach the nape of the neck.

    • 7). Braid the remainder of the hair in a standard single braid and secure the bottom of the braid with an elastic band.

    • 8). Remove the elastic band from the left side of the hair and repeat Steps 1 through 7.
