Unicycle Basketball Information
- The International Unicycling Federation has created an official league and international rules for the sport, generally following the rules for basketball with minor changes, including use of plastic pedals to guard players' shins.
- An illegal move in unicycle basketball is to become an "off-site player" by playing off the unicycle. Contact between the unicycle and the ball is forbidden.
- A player throwing the ball into play can be fully mounted on the unicycle. Otherwise, they can be in preparation to be mounted with one foot on the floor and one on a pedal
- Exceptions to traditional basketball dribbling apply in unicycle basketball if a player is motionless or progressing by balancing, twisting or idling on the unicycle. A progressing player who catches the ball can idle three times before making the next move.
- The rule of double dribbling does not apply if not in motion and the player holds the ball for 5 seconds or less before throwing it to a teammate. A player cannot make a consecutive dribble unless the ball has touched another player, or the other team's basket or backboard.
