Unhealthy Foods - Food Addiction

Food addiction is often the most overlooked and underestimated addiction out there.
Often people do not even realize that they hold some kind of addiction towards food.
When you drive by a fast food restaurant and you smell the food cooking, does your mouth water? Does it make you crave it even if you aren't really hungry? This is a chemical reaction similar to the reaction that an alcoholic/drug addiction creates.
Try going for just 6 months without eating fast food.
You will go through cravings, minor withdraws, and a detox phase.
If you are able to make it through these phases you will begin to develop an aversion to fast food restaurants, and the smells they produce will no longer be enticing for you.
This is a similar reaction that someone who quits smoking has toward the smell of cigarettes.
You will see and feel the difference in your body within the first month.
Increased energy levels, less stomach and bowel irritation, and you will begin feel better overall.
Increasing your water intake throughout this "quitting phase" will help flush the toxins from your body faster, and you will drop weight more quickly.
The hard part is not only getting yourself to stop eating these unhealthy foods, but also to not go back to them.
This can be quite difficult, especially if you are on a tight budget or have a hectic schedule.
So research for yourself which foods are not only healthier, but are also within your budget.
Make your lunch the night before then take it with you for a healthier, and more convenient meal.
This will save you money, time and keep you healthier.
There are too many resources out there for us to have any excuses other than lack of will power or laziness.
I have fallen into that same situation in the past.
It is easier to live unhealthy and not worry about it, but 5-10 years down the road when you are tired of being fat or sick from living an unhealthy lifestyle it will be too late to change.
You will have even more excuses such as: I'm too tired, I don't have the energy, or my body is too old and can't handle it.
Don't put off today what you can do tomorrow, because the truth is you probably won't do it tomorrow either.
Everything has to have a beginning, so start now.
