How to Remove Leg Hair When You Have Eczema or Psoriasis
- 1). Assess the current condition of your legs. Check for open sores, scabs or even sections where the eczema or psoriasis is in a flareup. Avoid removing leg hair from areas where the condition is visibly present.
- 2). Shave around the patches of scabs and sores. Wet your legs first, by soaking in a bathtub filled with warm water, to help soften the leg hair. Use a new razor with a sharp blade so you do not have to tug and pull at the skin to remove hair. Use a shaving gel or cream labeled for sensitive skin usage, preferably one free of both dyes and fragrance. Use a razor around the areas with sores.
- 3). Wax legs where large sections of no eczema or psoriasis exist. This will remove hair faster as you must use a razor to shave closely around sores. Try a sugaring wax which is used cold to prevent irritation of the skin.
- 4). Go back to the areas you could not remove hair due to the psoriasis or eczema. Use a small set of scissors to trim the longer hairs around the sores. Use caution and do not nick the sores or patches of skin with lesions or scabs.
