The Landlord Tenant Act Law in Alberta
- The landlord is obligated to make sure the property meets the standards put in place by Alberta's Public Health Act. The landlord carries out inspections for vacant or vacating premises.The landlord and tenant must keep copies of their rental contracts .
- The tenant must adhere to regular rental payments of rented space occupied. Tenants are required to be respectful of the rental space, in which they reside. Tenant's must not engage in illegal activity in or around the premises or cause harm to other tenants. When a rental contract has ended, a tenant is required to move out or renew the rental contract, with the landlord's approval.
