How to Build a Small Green House

    • 1). Pound the rebar stakes about five feet apart into the ground in a rectangle, making sure the stakes go at least six inches into the ground. The six stakes should form a rectangle made up of two rows of three stakes.

    • 2). Slip one end of a PVC pipe over a stake and bend it over to slide it on to the corresponding stake across from it. This may require two people, and if the ground is soft, it may require the stakes to be pounded further into the ground. Repeat for the other two pipes.

    • 3). Cover the pipes with plastic sheeting. Attach the plastic sheeting to the pipes by making small holes in the plastic near the pipes with the utility knife, and then securing the sheeting to the pipes using the plastic ties. Before making each cut, place a small strip of clear packing tape over the area where you will make the hole, and poke the hole through the tape for added strength. Make sure that the plastic is fastened completely to each pipe, and leave an overlapping section on each end to serve as doors. Cover each hole in the sheeting with additional clear packing tape if desired.

    • 4). Stake down the plastic sheeting where it meets the ground by using tent stakes, which can be driven through the plastic or attached using plastic ties. Place packing tape over these areas of the plastic as well before making any holes in them. The door can also be secured using Velcro fasteners or rope ties.
