DFDS Canal Tours

• DFDS Canal Tours provides guided sightseeing boat trips through new and old Copenhagen, with mid-morning departures. The tour commentary is conducted in Danish and English and several other languages on request. Tours begin from Gammel Strand or Nyhavn and last for approximately one hour. The boat trip stops at the Little Mermaid statue, one of the most famous photographed statues in the world and a popular tourist attraction in Denmark. DFDS also runs a waterbus with a hop-on, hop-off feature. The waterbus is unguided but allows you to see sights along the canals of Copenhagen including the Battery Sixtus and the Sea fortress Trekroner, which are original, centuries-old Danish naval sea defenses. Netto-Boats

• The Netto-Boats offers a 60-minute harbor and canal tour of Copenhagen. Tours operate daily from mid-morning to early evening during July and August. The boats sail from pick-up points at Holmens Church and Nyhavn. The tour route passes through Christianshavn's and Frederiksholm's canals while sightseeing attractions include Our Savior's Church, which has a gold spiraled tower over 295 feet tall that rises above Copenhagen's skyline. Four hundred steps lead to the summit and views cover the whole city. Christiansborg Palace, the Danish seat of government is another sight on this tour.
