How Can I Paint Without Having to Scrape The Bad Paint Off?

    • 1). Remove all furniture and items that may get in your way while you paint. These items can be distractions that add to the likelihood of you having to scrape bad paint off after the job is complete.

    • 2). Tape trim and borders up to the edge of the surface that you want to paint. Tape off the entire room before you start painting. Blue painter's tape is inexpensive and will save you a bunch of time at the end of the process.

    • 3). Put down old sheets around the room so, if there are spills and drips, the paint does not get on the floor. This can also save you time at the end of scraping bad paint.

    • 4). Buy the correct paint brushes in terms of the size. If your edge is 1/4 inch, use a paintbrush that is less than 1/4 inch. This will make it easier to control the paint on the brush as you apply it.

    • 5). Carry a rag damp with water around with you as you paint. Use it to clean up small drips and spills as you paint. Do not wait to go back later to your mistakes because the paint will dry and you will have to scrape.
