The question is: Will Gov.
Spitzer's indiscretion cause the Democrats to suffer a blow in the race for the White House? Will his actions sway Democratic voters, causing them to remember the Bill Clinton sex scandal and fear a repeat of some sort? Although many believed that the Bush administration is a result of the Bill Clinton sex scandal; I believe that the battle between Sens.
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama is too intense to produce a Democratic shake-up due to Spitzer's scandal.
Voters are too engulfed in the blow-by-blow of: who was photographed wearing a turban; who's tax returns are still not public records; and, who fumbled to pronounce the name of Russia's incoming president Dmitry "Med ve dev...
whatever," to even concern themselves with the salacious "Client 9".
Besides, with the Clinton and Obama ongoing finger pointing parade, it seems like the Democrats are slowly sabotaging themselves.
With recent talks of a likely Florida and Michigan redo, Democrats are preparing themselves for a few possibilities: Obama faced with a contentious challenge that could lead to a superdelegate unfavorable decision; Clinton's gamy politics landing her the Democratic nomination; a presidential election that could discourage some Democratic voters, due to an unsavory outcome; and Republican nominee, Sen.
John McCain becoming the next president of the United States, as a result of it all.
"Unity & Hope" the conjunctive words Obama preaches to forage a nation forward, seems to now be the dividing words that's tearing the Democrats apart.
While the Clinton vs.
Obama battle, spark daily entertainment, McCain sparks his search for a running mate.
Rumors have been circulating that the war veteran made an offer to Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice who respectfully declined, and that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is his next considered choice.
But, for whatever's happening in the GOP's camp, seems to me that Clinton and Obama need to quickly put aside their differences.
The Democrats need a strong leader now, more than ever.
One who can: steer their party into the future; recognize that idle bickering could be detrimental to their party; and, understand that with "Unity" there is indeed "Hope".
