How to Check the Belt in a Jenn-Air Dryer
- 1). Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
- 2). Pull the lint screen out of its compartment on the top of the Jenn-Air dryer. Remove the screws located next to the filter compartment.
- 3). Insert the tip of the putty knife into the gap above the front panel and below the top panel. Press the putty knife into the spring clips located about two inches from the right and left corners.
- 4). Lift the top panel up until it rests on the wall behind the dryer.
- 5). Remove the two screws mounted on the top edge of the front panel. Lift the front panel up to dislodge it from the base of the Jenn-Air dryer.
- 6). Disconnect the electrical wire connector leading into the front panel. Move the front panel out of the way so the belt can be accessed.
- 7). Inspect the belt visually to see if it's loose from becoming stretched. Slide the belt off of the drum and pulleys and carefully check for cracks or other damage. Replace the belt with a new one if it's damaged.
