Recommended Books for Infants

    "White on Black"

    • "White on Black" was written by Tana Hoban in 1993. The 12-page book features large shapes of everyday objects such as fish, ducks and bananas in contrasting colors. It comes in a board book format, and helps infants develop their sense of perception and recognition.

    "Baby Bathtime!"

    • "Baby Bathtime!" was written by Dawn Sirett in 2009. This 16-page story encourages toddlers object recognition by featuring items in the a baby bath, such as towels and rubber duckies. The book functions as a lift-the-flap entertainment for toddlers, helping engage them in the story.

    "Big Fat Hen"

    • "Big Fat Hen" was written in 1997 by Keith Baker. The eight-page board book features the famous nursery counting rhyme, "One, two, buckle my shoe." Infants can learn counting with the help of this book. Illustrations are brightly colored, with hens featured in warm colors.
