How to Remove Embarrassing Deodorant Strips on Clothes
We've all done it. Pulled a top over our head only to later find (at a most inopportune time) white deodorant stripes on the sides of our clothes. What to do?
Most of those zebra stripes are simple to remove and you don't even have to take off your shirt. Here are three easy tips:
- Rub the deodorant stripes with a pair of panty hose or knee highs. Some brisk wrist action should do the trick.
- Grab a piece of foam rubber from a dry cleaning hanger and rub out the evidence.
- Erase all traces of deodorant with a used fabric dryer sheet by rubbing with quick, short strokes. Make sure that the sheet is completely dry.
Any of these tools can easily be stored in a desk, tote bag or car. As a last resort, briskly rub the fabric together against itself to loosen the residue and then brush it away. I say last resort because the rubbing can cause wrinkles and even stretch or snag some delicate fabrics.
Just remember to launder your outfit later to remove all traces of deodorant and prevent staining.
