The Importance of Quality and Affordable Pet Medication Like Atopica

After continuous visits to the vet, you probably want to save some money on the prescribed pet medication. Purchasing the right medication in good time will generally improve the quality of life for your pets. Online purchases are inherently cheaper and guarantee quality as long as you spot the right pharmacist. There are so many types of medication that will improve the quality of life of your pets. These include but not limited to, Atopica, Felimazole, and Vidalta. Atopica is a type of medicine prescribed to treat skin and ear complications, commonly regarded as atopic dermatitis or atopy, common in dogs.

The current statistics of the prevalence of atopy in dogs is that one in every ten dogs is at risk of suffering from atopy although the severity of the condition may vary. Symptoms of atopy include itchy ears and groin, frequent ear and skin infections as well as chewing of the feet and legs. If you have any suspicions of your pet having any symptoms of atopy, then it is best to consult your vet since Atopica is only sold with a prescription. Ear infections in dogs and cats can also be treated by using a medicine referred to as Canaural. If your vet prescribes Canaural then the pet could be suffering from otitis extrena, a condition that causes ear inflammation.

On the other hand, a dog that is generally dull and lacks energy can be given Vivitonin. Vivitonin works by enhancing blood flow in pets without demanding a high level of glucose. Cushings diseases is a common condition in dogs that causes increased urination, hair loss, enhanced thirst and may have detrimental effects if it goes untreated. It is treated using Vetoryl, which must be prescribed by a vet. Another medication that can only be given upon obtaining a prescription from your vet is Felimazole.

This medicine is basically used to treat cats with a condition known as hyperthyroidism. Cats suffering from this condition suffer from an excessive production of thyroid hormones, which may cause weight loss, vomiting, and diarrhea. If hyperthyroidism is untreated, it may cause kidney, eye and heart complications. Now Felimazole can be prescribed to control hyperthyroidism in the long term or to be used prior to any surgical operation in severe cases. Basically, Felimazole controls the amount of thyroid hormones produced to prevent an increase in the size of the thyroid glands among other symptoms.

Hyperthyroidism being a very common condition in old and middle-aged cats has a number of medicines used to treat it. The other medication that can be prescribed by your vet is commonly known as Vidalta. When your pet exhibits the hyperthyroidism symptoms mentioned above, then the vet might recommend Vidalta to help monitor total thyroxine concentration in their body. Regardless of the medication you take to control any condition that your pet is suffering from, following the right guidelines on how to administer the medication is critical. For instance, Vidalta must be given daily at a specific time every day. Any variations in the way you administer this medication to your pet may affect its effectiveness.
