Information Tech Park Bangalore (ITPB) - The Futuristic Face Of India"s Silicon Valley

International Tech Park Bangalore is the brainchild of Ascendas, the international business space solutions provider.
Conceptualized as a unique "work and play" environment for IT and related businesses, this high-flying development in Bangalore's IT hub of Whitefield has already won ISO 9001:2000 certification as well as a host of international awards for its infrastructural excellence and range of recreational amenities and facilities.
Informally known as ITPB, this development encompasses over 2 million square feet and houses nearly 150 IT companies and over 20,000 employees that make up the upper crust of Bangalore's IT community.
Six of the nation's most prominent telecom service providers have offices at this park, while one boasts an Earth Station in the premises.
The six main buildings are thematically named; they are the Discoverer, Inventor, Innovator, Navigator, Explorer, Ponderer and Creator.
It has its own five-star hotel named Vivanta by Taj and plans for another business hotel of the same calibre are well underway.
Upon a further twenty-six acres of land are being developed more multiplexes, tenant buildings and customized facilities for biotech majors and more IT-related businesses.
Although the development's dedicated power plant has been honoured as the Best Decentralized Power Plant in Asia in 2007, the park also has no less than five backup diesel generators in case of emergency.
This is understandable as the air-conditioning, elevators, fire safety alarms, lighting and water of the complexes are all centrally controlled by the Building Management System.
The park also has its own water storage and sewage treatment plant.
The tech park has several multi-level car parks and a dedicated business centre, which also houses its own mall and health club.
Wi-Fi connectivity is assured throughout the premises while the sprawling mall complex offers every other amenity and facility the park's residents could wish for, from supermarkets and medical clinics to banking and transport services.
Food and beverage options offered by ITPB are also wide and varied.
They range from authentic Indian restaurants such as Dine and Sip and Kadamba to the multi-Asian food court of Route 19, the high-end far-Eastern establishments such as Civet and Sindbad to the staple fast food outlets such as KFC and Pizza Hut.
Café Coffee Day, Juice Junction, Polar-bear and Baskin Robbins ice cream are also family-friendly outlets for beverages and snacks.
Rising to the challenges of combating the nation's security and terrorism threats, the ITPB uses a range of top-of-the line surveillance systems, high-tech gadgetry and well-trained 24 hour security personnel to scrutinize and filter all individuals and the articles they carry in and out of the premises.
Security is one of the departments to which the management devotes the most amount of time and effort in order to secure the safety of India's most celebrated brain trusts.
This level of service and quality-assurance has garnered the ITPB the World Teleport Property of the Year by the Intelligent Community Forum of New York in 2002.
The Mysore Horticultural Society's horticultural show held during the following year also saw the park being conferred an award for "Best Ornamental Garden".
