How to Save a Vector Image in Illustrator
- 1). Launch Adobe Illustrator. Select the "Open" option at Illustrator's welcome screen to load the project you wish to export into a vector graphics format.
- 2). Click on the "File" heading in Illustrator's main menu. Click on the "Export" option in the menu that appears below the "File" heading.
- 3). Click on the "Save As Type" menu box when the "Export" menu appears. Click on the menu box's "Flash (SWF)" option if you intend to use the vector image in a flash project. Otherwise, select the "Enhanced Metafile (EMF)" option from the menu box.
- 4). Browse through the "Export" menu's folder tree to select an output folder for your vector image. Type a name for the image into the "Export" menu's "File name" field.
- 5). Click on the "Export" menu's "Save" button to turn your Illustrator project into a vector image file.
