How to Enable the Hotspot on an Evo
- 1). Go to your phone's "Home" screen by pressing the "Home" button. This button has the image of a house on it.
- 2). Tap the "Applications" button, which is in the bottom-left corner of the display.
- 3). Tap "Sprint Hotspot." If you have never used this feature before, an introductory window will pop up; tap the "OK" button to proceed.
- 4). Type the name you prefer for the hotspot into the "Router name (SSID)" text box. You can name the hotspot anything you want, or just leave the default name in the box.
- 5). Choose a security type from the "Security" option and then type in a password in the "Password" text box. You can leave the network open, but that could be a security risk -- anyone could log onto your phone. (You could also end up paying for the data that person accesses.) Of the available options, "WPA2" is the most secure.
- 6). Tap "Sprint Mobile Hotspot" to enable it. Your phone will begin broadcasting a wireless network.
