Getting Gray Hair?
As we grow older gray hair in both women and men is a natural part of 'growing' old.
People are spending over one point million dollars to cover up their gray.
I really do not understand this, yes my hair is gray now, silver actually and I love it.
People will stop me and ask me where I got my highlights done; I chuckle and said God did it.
They look at me like I have lost my mind, but it is true.
Some think gray hair makes them look older and will go to any length to cover it up, men included.
Now the trend is coloring your hair gray.
I couldn't believe that when I found out.
Young gals are spending a lot of money to have their hair the color of their mothers, wow.
I was a towhead growing up, blonde hair that was almost white, when I turned thirteen it started turning a mousy, dirty dishwater blonde.
So I started coloring it and did so until I was around my late thirties.
I just got so tired of having to do the touch ups and it just got to be a chore so I stopped.
To my surprise I was getting a lot of gray hair.
No, I did not panic, nor did I try to pull them all out, if I had I would have been bald.
As I grew older, it became grayer, or I like to say silver.
I still have a little bit of the mousy color, but it really looks good.
Even my hairdresser wanted to know where I got it done.
These young gals that are adding silver highlights to their hair are making a fashion statement or are they? Are they just making fun of us that have natural gray hair? Frankly my dear I really don't care, let them.
When girls are young they want to look older, maybe to get into bars or just give the appearance of more knowledge, and that's okay, for them.
Then when they finally reach the older years they want to look younger.
Young people are silly although that is part of their charm and it reflects in coloring their hair silver.
Some of them look very nice with it, others not so good.
Whatever they are thinking it's alright to be you.
I love my hair now, I feel I have earned every gray hair there and will tell anyone who will listen.
Part of my charm is being older, wiser and a head full of glorious hair!
