Munich, City of Oktoberfest

Every year in autumn the "Oktoberfest" takes place in Germany or as it is called "Oktoberfest".
It is the biggest festival in the world in the heart of Bavaria and a showcase for Germany.
Many things can be seen there like the leather pants, the beer maids or regional delicacies such as roasted chicken.
For whatever reason you visit the Oktoberfest every year it is bigger and more popular among foreign tourists.
But what can you still make on the Oktoberfest, except drink lots of beer? A lot! For example when the festival begins you can see a parade of all hosts, who are invaded with carriages and marching bands on the road.
Immediately after the arrival follows the mess.
Here the Lord Mayor is struck the first beer barrel and then the great drinking begins.
But there are more other attractions.
Since the whole thing is a huge festival, there are also plenty of rides.
Such as the oldest carousel on the realm.
The "Krinoline" is a classic round carousel, which can be found since 1924 in the meadows.
Previously, it was driven by pure muscle power, but today it is electric like the larger siblings.
Also, the Ferris is an integral part of the Oktoberfest and is now one of the landmarks of the festival.
For many tourists from outside of Germany the traditional clothing of the Germans is also a real eye-catcher.
Men wear leather pants, leather shorts with suspenders, women wear "Dirndl", a dress with floral patterns and a deep cleavage.
At the festival you can also dress up like a real traditional German and enjoy the charm of this event.
But Munich has also much to offer.
As a tourist you should take the opportunity to go there and watch the local attractions.
The Town offers for example many historical buildings such as the St.
Peter's Cathedral or the New Town Hall.
Who is a big football fan should look at the Allianz Arena.
It has a spectacular facade, which is illuminated at night and looks like a UFO from another dimension.
However, those who appreciate cultural activities will not be disappointed in Munich.
For example there is the German Museum.
For a person who wants to know more about culture of the German people, you are here on the correct address.
But art can be found here, too.
Like in the picture gallery "Pinakothek" where paintings are exhibited by famous artists such as Albrecht Durer.
Whether nightlife, delicious food or the Oktoberfest, Munich is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany and always worth a visit.
