In this short, yet informative article, I'm going to share with you easy tips and ideas on how to stay committed to your figure competition diet.
Start off easy - One common error many first time figure competitors make is starting off their figure contest diet too strict and rigid.
Sure, you need to have a pretty strict diet to take your physique to the competitive stage, but it's best to start off a little flexible.
In the beginning, it's OK to have some breathing room to break into the dieting pattern.
Train your body to diet - One sure-fire way to stay committed to your figure competition diet is to train your body to diet.
Basically, this is training your body when it will receive meals and the amount of calories and macro-nutrients it will receive.
Training your body to diet will only take about a week.
What this does is, your body will begin to expect a certain amount of calories and macros at certain times.
Then, when you do tweak your diet in any way, your body will respond by burning body fat.
Take a cheat day - The first several weeks of your figure contest diet you have the freedom to take a cheat day.
But, this cheat day is only effective if it's limited to one day and you have followed your diet to the letter all week.
A cheat day is just that.
One day, once a week that you can eat anything you want.
This can include burgers, pizza, pasta, etc.
It's your one cheat day, so you decide what you want, eat it, and don't feel guilty about it.
Cycle in a re-feed day - A great and effective way to stay committed to your figure competition diet is to take a re-feed day.
A re-feed day is different from a cheat day.
A re-feed day can be cycled in every 4th to 7th day of your low-calorie, low-carb dieting.
This re-feed day should include the same healthy meals, but just more calories and carbs.
This calorie-macro jump will shock your body, give you energy, and trick your body to burn more fat.
Staying committed to your figure competition diet can be easily achieved with the right information and dieting tactics.
Simple dieting manipulations are the secret key to a successful figure prep.
Good Luck!
