How to Make a Christmas Tree Angel Topper
Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Cut out a semi-circle with an 8-inch diameter from the piece of cardboard.
2
Roll the semi-circle into a cone shape, apply a strip of glue onto the straight edge with a hot-glue gun and press together to secure. The bottom of the cone remains open so you can place it on top of the tree.
3
Cut out two semi-circles of white fabric, each with about a 9-inch diameter.
4
Glue one of the pieces of fabric to the outside of the cone to make the angel's dress.
5
Paint a 3-inch wood or foam ball with flesh-colored paint for the angel's head. Draw details on with black marker. Glue yarn on the top of the head for hair.
6
Cut off the top of the cone, leaving a hole about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
7
Apply a strip of hot-glue along the edge of the hole at the top of the cone. Put the angel's head on the glue.
8
Hot-glue a thin piece of gold ribbon along the straight edge of the second semi-circle of fabric.
9
Glue the fabric around the back of the angel's neck to make a cloak, with the gold edges remaining open in the front.
10
Draw two matching wing shapes on gold-colored card stock, and cut them out. Glue the wings to the angel's back.
11
Twist a gold chenille stem into a round halo with a straight piece of stem to hold it up. Glue the end of the stem to the back of the angel's head.
12
Tie a scrap of white tulle about 1 inch wide and 8 inches long in a bow around the angel's neck to hide the glue.
