What Causes Kidney Stones and How to Get Rid of Them

In the past when I was asked what causes kidney stones I really didn't care.
I just wanted to get rid of it/them.
OUCH! I suffered on and off with the pain for over 10 years and finally came to the realization that if I wanted stop getting kidney stones, I had to find out the root cause as to why I was getting them.
So what causes kidney stones? This is what I found.
There are several metabolic disorders which in itself can create the stones but these metabolic disorders are somewhat rare.
Certain drugs can help to create these daggers by the pure act of dehydration.
This includes the drug Lasix as well as other types of diuretics.
The dehydration factor can also be supported by those who drink a lot of tea or coffee (my nemesis).
Otherwise diet seems to play a big factor.
More specifically, many folks like me end up with stones made up of calcium oxalate.
As my doctor handed me a brochure on kidney stones, he asked that I stay away from coffee, chocolate, and green leafy vegetables.
He did however say that I can eat doughnuts (honest to God truth).
Here are just a few foods which contain calcium oxalate.
* rhubarb * spinach * beets * peanuts * chocolate If you find that you have kidney stones, you may want to take note of the causes and start by adjusting your diet and keep hydrated.
Otherwise you may just find that you can avoid and get rid of them entirely by doing just a little research.
