Intuitive Eating
With more diets out there then you can name why is America becoming increasingly overweight? When a person diets they don't listen to their body, instead they listen to the diet.
Which regiments when they eat, what they eat, and how much of it they eat, not taking into consideration if they are hungry or even enjoy the food they are eating.
Diet's don't work.
People diet to lose weight, and initially they do, but on average American's who diet end up lowering their metabolism and binging on the food they missed from their diet.
And because they have lowered their metabolism by dieting, after initially losing weight, they end up gaining more weight they had weighed when they started the diet and feel guilty.
Thus resulting in this yo-yo diet mentality and the weight follows making people even more frustrated and guilty feeling.
Instead of this vicious cycle I would like to introduce you to the idea of intuitive eating.
Intuitive eating is a method of listening to your bodies natural hunger cues and trusting it to know what's best.
Instead of depriving yourself of things you love, like say chocolate, when you want it you allow yourself to have some.
Thus helping you feel satisfied without overindulging and feeling sick later.
It is a way of guilt free eating, not feeling deprived, and not having to worry about your weight because when you listen to your body it takes care of itself.
In the beginning listening to your body can be difficult because you haven't had to do it since you were an infant.
But if you just stick with it I promise you will feel more at peace with your body, you will have more energy, and you might even lose weight.
(If you aren't already at your natural weight).
Intuitive eating isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle.
