- As many as 8 percent of people who are prescribed Diovan due to high blood pressure report dizziness as a side effect of the medication. About 17 percent of heart failure patients on Diovan report dizziness.
- About 2 percent of high blood pressure patients taking Diovan experience fatigue.
- People taking Diovan for high blood pressure experience an infection when suffering from a common virus such as a cold in about 3 percent of cases.
- In congestive heart failure patients taking Diovan, about 10 percent experience an increase in blood potassium levels. More than 4 percent of high blood pressure patients on Diovan will experience it.
- About 7 percent of congestive heart failure patients prescribed Diovan report having diarrhea as a side effect of the medication.
- Less commonly reported side effects include stomach pain, cough and joint pain.
