How To Increase Your Aerobic Fitness Without Really Trying!

Who today isn't concerned with their aerobic fitness?  Getting regular physical exercise means increasing your heart's strength and your lung's strength as well which in turn means better health overall.  Every cell of the body needs blood and oxygen for health and to repair itself and these are delivered through the respiratory and circulatory systems.  Your aerobic fitness means that these systems are strengthened and can feed and nourish the body and help it heal that much better.  When the heart and lungs are not strong the body's cells do not get the nourishment they need or as much as they need to be healthy and to heal.  So increasing your aerobic fitness levels should be a concern for everyone.

But who really has time to get in all the exercise that's needed to increase one's aerobic fitness?  Between working and taking care of family responsibilities, it's no wonder that many have given up on exercising regularly.  But you can increase your aerobic fitness without really trying if you consider a few simple tips and tricks.  Let's talk about them here.

Remember that increasing your aerobic fitness doesn't necessarily need to include the gym or workout equipment.  Have you ever wondered how people stayed fit and trim before they invented treadmills?  They were active regularly, of course!  So to increase your aerobic fitness levels without really trying, think of activities you enjoy that get you up off the couch and out of the house.  For instance, you could go dancing with a partner or some friends.  Many places today have activities like country line dancing where everyone can participate regardless of skill level.  To increase your aerobic fitness levels, think about bike riding, skating, or joining a sports league.  Does your company sponsor a softball team or bowling team?  Sign up and play.  Take the kids out regularly for the same purpose.  If you're active every day or many times throughout the week, you'll increase your level of aerobic fitness without feeling as if you've been actually exercising or working out.

And keep in mind all the little points you've probably heard before about increasing your aerobic fitness, such as parking far from a building's entrance and walking, or taking stairs rather than an escalator or elevator.  Get up and see a coworker in person rather than emailing him or her.  Walk to the corner store when you need bread or milk rather than driving the few blocks.  These things are small but when done regularly you may find that you have increased your aerobic fitness without having to join a gym or spend hours on a boring treadmill.  The key is to find activities you enjoy and which don't feel like work to you and if you do, then you'll see you actually like getting up and being active.  So keep these simple tips in mind when it's time to increase your activity levels and you may find that you're much healthier overall.
