Interning at The Westport Country Playhouse
The Westport Country Playhouse:
The Westport Country Playhouse is a non-profit theatre run by Anne Keefe and Joanne Woodward (Paul Newman’s wife of 50 years) located in Westport, Connecticut.
"The mission of Westport Country Playhouse is to transform lives through the power of theatre. Our aim is to enlighten, enrich and engage a diverse community of theatre lovers, artists and students by presenting excellent professional theatre and offering a welcoming experience that perpetuates the long tradition of the Westport Country Playhouse "red barn."
Internships:
Internships at the Westport Country Playhouse are broken into two categories: Production and Administration.
Production Internships:
Production internships are focused on the building, managing, and execution of Westport Coutry Playhouse productions. Production internships include:
Administrative Internships:
Administrative internships focus on making a nationally renowned professional theatre successful. Applicants must possess excellent computer skills including: Microsoft Windows and Excel, be well-organized, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Administrative internships include:

The Westport Country Playhouse is located in Westport, CT.

Westport Country Playhouse provides:
- Off-site housing (own transportation required to and from Playhouse)
- $100 weekly stipend ($150 for returning interns)
- College credit and EMC candidate points
- Written evaluations

Additional Requirements:
- Applicants must include two (2) letters of recommendation.
- Applicants must be 19 years of age
- Interns must commit to a minimum of 12 weeks of full-time employment.
