Discriminatory Harassment Training
- Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is one of the earliest antidiscrimination laws on the books. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission enforces Title VII regulations that prohibit workplace discrimination and unlawful harassment based on age, color, national origin, race, religion and sex.
- As the workforce becomes more diverse, the need for training concerning fair employment practices, discrimination and unlawful harassment increases. Effective training and learning objectives teach employees and managers how to prevent, recognize and report discriminatory employment practices.
- The EEOC provides technical guidance to employers who want assistance in developing training programs and workplace policies that prohibit discrimination and unlawful harassment. Manager training is especially important because companies can be liable for the actions of supervisors and managers who engage in or do not stop discrimination and harassment. Employers who train employees and managers are doing their part in complying with Title VII regulations.
