Now let's add a couple of finishing touches. First, a shadow for the sign.
Hold the Ctrl key down and click on the mask thumbnail for the sign shape in the layers palette, then add the shift key and click the mask thumbnail for the post shape. This will load the shapes as a combined selection.
Click the new layer button, then go to Edit > Fill, select black for the color and click OK. The new layer may be partly hidden behind other layers, so for now, drag it up to the top of the layers palette where you can see it.
