- The 1975 Oldsmobile Omega, made by General Motors (GM) had the classification of a compact car at the time. The Oldsmobile gets its name from Ransom Olds, who put his first "Curved Dash Olds" in the New York Auto Show in 1901. William Durant acquired Oldsmobile in 1908 and made it part of GM. The first mail trucks for the U.S. postal service were Oldsmobiles.

GM produced 14,306 Oldsmobile Omega coupes in 1975.
