How to Fix a Loose Small Belt on the Hoover Self-Propelled WindTunnel

    • 1). Set the brush roll control on the base of your Hoover Self-Propelled WindTunnel to “Hard.”

    • 2). Step on the handle release pedal at the rear of vacuum and lower the handle to the ground.

    • 3). Turn the Hoover vacuum over, revealing the brush roll inside the cleaning head.

    • 4). Remove the four screws from the plate covering the brush roll. Place the screws in a cup to prevent losing them.

    • 5). Remove the plate.

    • 6). Lift up on the belt side of the brush roll to free the roll from the cleaner head. Slide the small belt off the side of the brush roll.

    • 7). Position the small belt over the groove beside the pulley at the rear of the belt. Pull up on the belt to “snap” it into the groove.

    • 8). Slide the front end of the belt back over the brush bar. Position the belt in the groove on the brush bar.

    • 9). Fit the end of the brush bar back into the cleaner head.

Place the plate back over the brush bar. Thread the screws in place by hand, then tighten them using the screwdriver.
