How to Make Tinting Lip Gloss for Little Girls
- 1). Purchase several empty lip gloss tubes or small lip gloss containers. Look at craft stores or order containers online. Consider using old lip gloss tubes or even plastic bottle caps, to recycle items you have at home.
- 2). Ensure the containers are sterile. Wash containers using hot water. Use a cotton swab and clean with rubbing alcohol. Rinse the containers with clean water and dry with a paper towel.
- 3). Place 10 sliced open cranberries, 1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil and 1 teaspoon of honey in a microwavable container. Heat until the liquid begins to boil. Carefully remove the container. Mash the cranberries to release the juices. Continue to heat and mix cranberries at ten second increments until enough color has been released into the mixture. (Add a small amount of canned beet to the mixture to increase the lip gloss tint, then reheat as directed above. Mix a pinch of cherry powdered drink mix into the concoction for additional flavoring.)
- 4). Strain the mixture through a metal mesh strainer. Pour the ingredients into the tubes or containers, then cover with lids. Wrap recycled plastic bottle caps in plastic. Label each container with the ingredients and date made. Put them in the refrigerator to allow the lip gloss to cool.
