The Aztecs Hospitality

Cortes, a Spanish Conquistador reached the Isle of Sacrifices, and there he saw the Totonac tribe. The Totonacs were sure that the Spanish people would like to help them in the war with the Aztecs. Teudile, the messenger of the Aztecs' governor came to that island, and provided the Spanish with presents of valuable minerals and feathery. Teudile himself wore a cloak made of parrot feathers, which doubled the Spanish lust for gold. As he informed the Spanish about their King Montezuma's desires, he ate mud and bled him on straws. These signs meant their admiration. In reply Cortes showed his weapons, and asked to see Montezuma. Spanish records state that the messenger and his people fell down in horror. Teudile told Montezuma, and Montezuma accepted as true that Cortes was Quetzalcoatl, their god that was banished, and swore to come back. Some of Cortes' people were going to return to Cuba, but, Cortes set his ships on fire to stop them. The punishment for Cortes' deeds was death or jail. He went came to the land of the Tlaxcalans. He hoped they would ally themselves with him in battle against the Aztecs. Nevertheless, the Tlaxcalans fought against them, and failed to win. They decided to go with the Spanish to fight with the Aztecs.

As they came to Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Aztecs, they were fascinated by its gorgeousness. In 1519 at the 8th of November, the Spanish invaded the Aztecs state. They saw Montezuma at the border of the town, who was very dirty. He took necklaces of valuable minerals and gold and put it on Cortes' neck, and then guided his forces into the town. He presented them lots of gifts, and allowed them put on inside the residence. However, it just made the Spanish' lust for gold bigger. An Aztec records tell about the way the Aztecs felt, that it was something similar to eating remarkable mushrooms... it looked as if people had seen something amazing. Horror took control over everybody.
