How to Clean Stainless Steel Flavorizer Bars

- 1). Remove the flavorizer bars from your gas or charcoal grill by lifting the panel or individual bars from the grill's main cooking surface.
- 2). Place three to four sheets of newspaper onto a flat surface--countertop, table or other flat surface. Place the flavorizer bars on the newspaper.
- 3). Use a stainless steel grill brush to scrape off any dirt and grime buildup. Wear latex gloves to keep your hands from getting dirty.
- 4). Fill a sink with ½ cup of dishwashing detergent and hot water.
- 5). Place the flavorizer bars in the soapy water. Let the bars soak until the remaining buildup on the bars is broken up.
- 6). Scrub the bars with the stainless steel grill brush until the flavorizer bars are dirt free.
- 7). Rinse the flavorizer bars in hot water. Dry the bars with a soft cloth or rag.
