List of North Carolina Piedmont Cabins
- The Greensboro Campground is situated within the Greensboro city limits and is on the Piedmont Plateau. It has one and two-bedroom cabins with the difference being the the latter has two sets of bunk beds. Campers must bring their own linens and anything else they need to stay in these rustic cabins. Conveniently located off an exit of Interstate 40, the property features an outdoor swimming pool, a picnic pavilion and a playground for children. For your convenience, it has also a laundry room and propane filling station. Reservations are accepted at a campground that also has spots for RVs. Attractions in Greensboro include the Civil Rights Museum, the Barn Dinner Theater, a family water park and the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park.
- The Statesville East/I-40/Winston-Salem KOA has what it calls Kamping Kabins. These cabins have limited amenities, but they do come with porches and 1/2 baths. They also have air conditions. The cabins are located on a property with showers, a laundry room and a picnic table. Camping sites for RVs and tents are also available. Recreational facilities include volleyball courts, a game room, a seasonal swimming pool with a sundeck. Additional features include a miniature golf course and a lake where guests can fish for free. The KOA also holds theme weekends and family activities such as a bean bag toss. Attractions in Statesville include the Governor Zebulon Vance House and Museum.
- The Pilot Knob Inn Bed & Breakfast in Pilot Mountain is located on the western edge of the Piedmont Plateau. It has six of what it calls tobacco cabins that are all 100 years or older. Despite what their name might suggest, no smoking is allowed in the tobacco cabins. Each cabin has 850 square feet, porches, a whirlpool for two, showers and a stone wood-burning fireplace. The firewood is provided with the rate. Within walking distance of the cabins is a 6-acre lake with rowboats and paddle boats. Fishing is allowed. A picnic area can also be reached by foot. The Pilot Mountain State Park is within walking distance, while the Blue Ridge Parkway is 30 miles away.
- Located less than one hour from Greensboro and Winston-Salem, the Hanging Rock State Park has 10 cabins that are located near the campground for tents and trailers. Each cabin has a bathroom, living room, kitchen with dining space and two bedrooms. The cabins can sleep up to six people and are available throughout the year. Reservations are required. Hanging Rock State Park has 6000 acres and more than 18 miles of hiking trails. Other natural features include vistas, waterfalls, caves and ridges. The park also contains the highest peaks of the Sauratown Mountains, which are surrounded by the hills of the Piedmont. Swimming is availalbe in a 12-acre spring-fed lake.
