Interstate 20, or I-20, crosses the entire width of the state of Georgia, from the Alabama border in the west to the South Carolina border in the east, passing through Atlanta itself. Six Flags Over Georgia, as well as other attractions in Atlanta and the central Georgia cities of Covington, Thomson, and Augusta, all are close to I-20 exits. For RV enthusiasts looking to experience Georgia, a number RV parks also are conveniently located near the interstate. - The Northshore Resort is a 50-acre park on the banks of Lake Oconee, a mile from I-20 and 80 miles east of Atlanta near Oconee National Forest. RV sites feature full hookups, including wireless Internet access. The resort also offers cottages and cabins. Facilities include swimming pools, private beaches, boat slips with launch ramp, picnic pavilions and a 4,000-square-foot clubhouse. The park features a railroad theme, with 23 railroad cars throughout the park serving as park offices, shops, and playground features.
