In fact, the slogan, €Kerala - God's Own Country' is part of the strategy for promoting city. The mission has been successful so far. Today, the state is one of the most sought after holiday destinations in the country and commands an impressive brand recall.

Certain statistics speak volumes about the robust pace of growth of the Kerala tourism industry. It continues to grow at a rate of about 13.31%. Now for some awards and accolades. In 2012, Kerala Tourism won the award for Excellence in Taking "Brand India" Global Award from Conde Nast Travel. In the same year, Kerala also bagged the award of €Best Destination for Families' from Lonely Planet - India Travel Awards. Furthermore, in 2012, Kerala went on to win the Silver Prize at the Golden Gate Award of the Internationale Tourismus-B¶rse Berlin. In 2010, Kerala was visited by around 0.66 million overseas tourists. In fact, over the years, Kerala has bagged a long string of awards and other recognitions from numerous different renowned entities.
