- Most employment opportunities in the health field career require a certification in CPR either prior to hiring or as training for the position. When working in a health care field, the likelihood of your using CPR to save someone's life is higher than in non-health-related fields.
- Having a CPR certification and skills are essential in many fields not related to health care. To work as a personal trainer, a fitness instructor, a nanny and many other jobs a certification in CPR is either recommended or required.
- You can save someone's life using CPR. When an individual is thought to be having a heart attack, using CPR can keep the person alive until paramedics arrive. If someone is choking and stops breathing, CPR can be used to restore oxygen to the person's lungs and restore breathing capacity in the choking victim.
