What To Do In Queens

Are you planning a trip to New York City? Chances are you won't have any trouble coming up with a list of things to do in Manhattan.
Unfortunately, visitors have more trouble finding things to do in Queens.
Queens is the most eastern borough of the five boroughs of New York City.
It's also the most ethnically diverse urban area in the world.
Here's my list of top picks for Queens, New York.
Noguchi Museum The Noguchi Museum opened its doors in 1985 to preserve and display the works of Isamu Noguchi, a Japanese American artist and sculptor.
Isamu Noguchi had garnered a lot of publicity and fame throughout his hometown, New York City, via his public sculptures.
He also worked with the Herman Miller company to produce the most influential modern furniture collection.
The Noguchi Museum is a two-story building near Isamu Noguchi's home studio.
Inside the museum are 12 galleries filled with his work.
The galleries are modern and spacious.
The museum also includes a sculpture garden.
The layout makes for a clean ambience.
The Noguchi Museum is highly recommended for everyone, even if you're not a fan of modern art.
Flushing Meadow-Corona Park Flushing Meadow-Corona Park covers 1,255 acres in Queens.
It's currently the venue for the New York Mets baseball games and United States Open Tennis Tournament.
The park is also home to various organizations like the Queens Museum of Art, Queens Wildlife Center, Queens Theatre in the Park, and New York Hall of Science.
Throughout the park, you'll find miles of trails surrounded by green forests.
The Flushing Meadow-Corona Park is a hiker's dream come true.
Walking along the trails, you'll also find various historical remnants of the New York World's Fair.
The park was originally a dump site for garbage and manure.
It was later re-purposed to become the site of the 1939/1940 New York World's Fair.
The Queens Museum of Art The Queens Museum of Art is worth a visit on its own.
It's located in the Flushing Meadow-Corona Park, right behind the Unisphere.
The museum's mission is to collect and display works of art which reflect Queen's diverse cultures.
It does have one art piece which will truly impress every visitor who sees it.
The Panorama of the City of New York is an accurately scaled model of New York City.
It was created for the 1964 World's Fair, but now lays here for visitors to enjoy.
With over 895,000 individual structures, the model includes every building in New York City up until 1992.
Try to find your hotel, it will probably be there.
Residents of New York will be able to find their building as a miniature sized structure.
