Home Video Security System Ready For Dog Owners
Although they are not marketed as home video security systems, security cameras aimed for dog owners are really nothing but a home video security system in differing sizes. They let you keep a virtual eye on your dog while you are working on the computer or even traveling, as some systems will work on cell phones or a PDA. There are many reasons for pet owners to invest in a wireless home video security system.
Training Issues
Dogs have limited memory. If they destroy your shoes while you're at work and you don't discover them and get mad until you come home, they won't be able to connect chewing of shoes to why you're angry. If, however, you could suddenly correct your dog within a minute of the shoe going into his jaws, then the dog gets the message better.
But how can you tell when your dog is suddenly chewing your shoes, or howling, or digging at the floorboards if you're not in the same room with him? If you have a home video security system such as Panasonic's PetCam, then you could access the camera's image on your cell phone or PDA, walk around the corner, wait, and then run back to the house when the dog begins to act up.
Health Issues
Some dogs have chronic illnesses, such as epilepsy. Also, when they are pregnant, they may not give you much of a warning as to when they need to whelp. When they do whelp, they would rather be left alone. If you work at home, you can't stay with your dog all of the time and obsess over these health issues. You can, however, work on your computer and keep a small window open that broadcasts what your home video security system camera sees to you.
Other Issues
You don't have to use a home video security system like PetCam just for pets. You can also use it for watching your kids; keeping an eye on a babysitter and your kids; keeping tabs on the actions of a suspicious neighbor; or guarding your car when you park in a strange neighborhood.
There are all sorts of ingenious ways you can use the wireless set up. Usually what happens is that you purchase an entire set, including the camera, software or access to a website that runs the software. When you want to see what the camera sees, you just log onto the company's website.
