- 1). Rinse the tile to remove dust and debris. Allow it to air dry.
- 2). Apply underglaze to the raised areas of the rubber stamp. Apply underglaze with a sponge for a light stamping or use a paintbrush to apply a thicker coat of underglaze.
- 3). Stamp the image onto the tile using moderate pressure. Lift the stamp straight up and off the tile to prevent smudging.
- 4). Allow the underglaze to dry completely, then add any final accents.
- 5). Apply a two coats of clear glaze with a 1-inch fan brush. Cover the surface and sides of the tile, but leave the back of the tile unglazed. Allow the glaze to dry.
- 6). Dampen a lint-free rag and remove glaze drips and drops from the back of the tile.
- 7). Place the tile in your kiln for the next glaze firing. Be sure to use a kilnsitter cone that matches the firing temperature of the bisque, glaze and underglaze.
