How to Print a Picture on a Blanket
- 1). Flip the image horizontally using the image software of your choice. The image will be reversed back to its original when it is ironed on.
- 2). Place the iron-on transfer paper into your printer so that its transfer side will be printed on. Print the image onto this paper as you would print on normal paper.
- 3). Cut out the image from the iron-on transfer paper. Place the transferred image on top of the blanket where you would like the image to be, keeping the printed side down.
- 4). Press a hot iron over the transfer paper in a circular motion for 5-10 seconds to heat-transfer the design. Remove the transfer paper to reveal the design.
- 1). Place the printable fabric into your printer as you would any normal paper. It has a backing that will keep it straight during the printing process.
- 2). Print the image onto the fabric as you would onto any normal paper, making sure the image is printed on the fabric side and not the backing. Let dry overnight and then remove the backing from the printable fabric.
- 3). Cut out the design. Cut out a piece of stabilizer with the same size and shape. Line up the adhesive side of the stabilizer with the back of the fabric. Use a hot iron to press the stabilizer onto the back of the fabric.
- 4). Spray the stabilizer side of the fabric with fabric adhesive. Place the design fabric-side up against the blanket where you would like it to adhere. Let dry overnight or according to the spray-on adhesive's directions.
- 5). Stitch around the periphery of the design with embroidery floss or thread, using a decorative edge stitch of your choice.
